Educational Opportunities provided by the Hilton Head Choral Society

Great music requires talented and skilled musicians to replicate the composer's musical intention. The Hilton Head Choral Society provides multiple training programs to improve the singers' skills from basic singing techniques to correct application of music expression including dynamics, phrasing and historical styles. Programs include:

*Master Classes* Singers are divided into separate vocal sections - Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone/Bass Classes are taught by Artistic Director, Tim Reynolds Focus is on breathing, sound formation, tonal quality, and vocal maintenance Classes are scheduled in 2008: Soprano - January 12 Alto - January 19 Tenor - January 26 Bass - February 2

*Fall Retreat* Capitalizing on the success of previous retreats, Choral Society members will gather to kick off a new season. The Retreat is a powerful tool for revitalization and focusing the singer's musical vision for the upcoming season, and to accelerate the return to musical level attained at the end of last season. Workshops will focus on vocal techniques and musical techniques and a review of our entire season's repertoire. *The 2007 Fall Retreat is scheduled for September 29.*
*Soloists* Many of the music works performed by the Choral Society require solo parts. The Director will audition interested members and provide training on solo performances. Opportunities include solos, duets, trios, and quartets.

*Practice Music* For the more difficult works, practice tapes are provided. New with this website for our members' use is a library of practice music accessible through the Internet.

*Private Lessons*
Many of our singers choose individual training and coaching with local voice instructors.
